Yellow is one of the most familiar names known aside from white "colorless" diamonds. Canary is a term commonly used to describe fancy yellow diamonds. Some yellows with higher intensity of colour such as intense deep or Vivid are as rare as smaller pinks and blues and command unusually high prices.
YELLOW DIAMONDS
Pink diamonds are extremely rare and highly desired. Pink diamonds of higher intensity are the most rare and command extraordinary high prices. Most pink diamonds mined are faint to light colored (pastel colored). The most desirable fancy, intense, deep and vivid colours come primarily from the Argyle diamond mine in Australia
PINK DIAMONDS
Natural blue color is one of the rarest of fancy color diamonds. These diamonds are amongst the most sought after by collectors. Color can range from faint to a very deep blue, an exceptional blue diamond can command even higher prices than a comparable pink diamond depending on size and colour saturation.
BLUE DIAMONDS
Red is by far the rarest of all colored diamonds. There have been less than 500 red diamonds to ever be graded and classified as red by the Gemological Institute of America.There have been half carat red diamonds that have sold for over a half million dollars at auction over the past decade, and the prices are climbing aggressively.
RED DIAMONDS
These are the most widely available and surprisingly affordable colored diamonds. They provide a beautiful low cost alternative to pink, blue, grey, green or yellow diamonds. Common names used to describe brown color are: champagne, chocolate, coffee, golden, honey, bronze, cognac, etc.
BROWN (CHOCOLATE) DIAMONDS
